First Look at the Thrustmaster Gran Turismo Sport Wheel

Alan Boiston of TeamVVV visited the Gran Turismo Sport launch event at the Olympic Stadium in London and captured some interesting footage. At the show, Sony Computer Entertainment, and Polyphony Digital revealed the details and the release date of the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport title for the PlayStation 4.

Interestingly, at the show floor near the bar, Thrustmaster showcased what could be the long-awaited successor to the famed Thrustmaster RS 500 racing wheel. The new Thrustmaster Gran Turismo Sport branded racing wheel is not yet officially introduced by Thrustmaster, and currently has no official name or a price indication.

From what we can see in the video, the highly detailed wheel features a leather and chrome finish and houses a set of metal paddle shifters, the well-known PlayStation buttons with D-Pad, 4 chrome dials, and two analog sticks. The wheel also looks to use the Thrustmaster patented semi quick-release system which could indicate that the Thrustmaster Gran Turismo Sport branded racing wheel could be compatible with the Thrustmaster’s ECO system’s line of optional steering rims.

We expect that more news about the Thrustmaster Gran Turismo Sport branded racing wheel to be shared on June 14-16, 2016 at this year’s E3 – Electronic Entertainment Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
