Hardware – Pre-Production Logitech G27 Mod by Manu-Factory.

Pre-Production Logitech G27 Mod by Manu-Factory.

Pictures of a pre-production mod for the Logitech G25 and G27 by Manu-Factory surfaced on the web.
At first glance, it looks similar to the well known Arc_Team mod for the same wheels.  Adapting the electronics to work with a 48volts power supply results in a much more defined feedback system, and overall feedback strength is enhanced.

Needles to say that this will increase the heat generated by the feedback motors. Therefore two 8 cm cooling fans are Build into the top of the base unit, and a opening is cut in to  the front of the housing to ensure good airflow to cool the motors down.Still it is said that temperatures with the 48 volts power supply are still lower then the original non cooled version.

The wheel is also fitted with a master switch and Feedback strength can be varied by the use of four different capacitors, so you can tune the feedback power output to your specific needs..

All in all this should result in a smooth and way better defined feedback system. Some people report that the center feedback gap known in logitech wheels is also diminished.
On the downside, it is clear that the wheel will be noisy when being calibrated or when the motors hit maximum power.

The mod itself has to performed by Manu Factory, so it requires you wheel to be send to Italy or purchase a already pre-modded Wheel.
