iRacing is getting ready to roll out the 2025 Season 4 build of its racing simulation. The update introduces some interesting new cars to the online racing service.

They already shared a few in-game screenshots of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO. Now, iRacing shared some in-game eyecandy of the new Ford Mustang GT4.

Alongside the new GT4 car, the iRacing dev team worked hard to comprehensively overhaul the GT4 class, introducing a number of improvements, including:

  • TC, ABS, and ESC systems (where appropriate)
  • Dampers for improved body control, particularly for curb strikes and rough tracks
  • Engine torque curves
  • Brake systems (particularly brake pads)
  • Mass, inertia, and distribution properties
  • Aerodynamic factors, particularly dynamic side force, wing trim ranges, and ride height ranges
  • Fuel tank size, fill times, and fuel burn rates (standardised to smaller IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Series ruleset)
  • BoP to improve relative competitiveness across track types for all cars
  • Other QoL items include low fuel warning clear buttons, finer adjustment of spring perch offset, improved garage tech tips, and layouts.

The Ford Mustang GT4 is designed and engineered for global GT4-class racing and is a popular choice for privateer race teams. The Mustang GT4 has been a successful contender in various GT4 championships around the world since its debut in 2017.

The car is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V8 racing engine developed by Ford Performance and Roush Yates Engines. The power transfers to the rear wheel via a six-speed sequential Holinger gearbox with paddle shifters.

Depending on the version and BOP rules, this front-engined “turn-key” GT4 car typically delivers in the range of 450 to 500+ horsepower.
