ISR reviews the BenQ XR3501 Ultra Wide Gaming Monitor

Followers of the “This Week Inside Sim Racing” live show will already know John Sabol from ISR is using three BenQ XR3501 ultra curve Gaming Monitors in his triple-screen racing rig.

A while back, John already reviewed the 35inch curved BenQ XR3501 Ultra Wide Gaming Monitors for use on a triple-screen racing rig, but it is apparent that many community members would like to know if this screen is also a recommended product when using it for a single screen racing setup. In this review, John also asks himself if this ultra-wide screen is a good replacement for a traditional 16:9 triple-screen setup. Let’s find out.

In John’s own words, ” It ticks nearly every box.  It’s big, which is nice when on a single monitor and looking to get a 1:1 ratio to the real world cockpit, ultra smooth at 144 Hz, lots of extra screen thanks to the 21:9 aspect ratio, big curve that brings the edges closer to you and great color thanks to the AMVA panel.”

Quality comes at a price. On average the BenQ XR3501 Ultra Wide is selling for $969.99 in the U.S, while Europeans will have to slash out around € 1.160. ( ed. We have seen prices as high as €1500. So do your homework before parting with your hard-earned cash.)
