Italian game developer Milestone and MotoGP organizer Dorna Sports, S.L., published a new Deep Dive trailer for the upcoming MotoGP 26, the official racing game of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.
Here is everything you need to know from the seven-minute breakdown.
The most significant change in gameplay is the shift to a Rider-Based Handling system. In previous years, the focus was primarily on bike physics; now, the rider’s body weight and movement are the central control principles.
- Active Weight Transfer: You now manage the rider’s lean and positioning to stabilize the bike during aggressive acceleration and mid-corner corrections.
- New Animations: The trailer showcased completely revamped animations, from the way a rider sticks a leg out to counterbalance a turn to the way they tuck behind the fairing on straights.
- Authentic Feedback: The goal is a more “reactive” feel, where the bike responds naturally to the physical shifts of the pilot, making the Pro mode more challenging and rewarding.
Milestone is taking a page out of the sports sim playbook (think F1 or FIFA) by introducing Dynamic Rider Ratings. Every rider on the grid has a rating card based on four key attributes:
- Lap Time: Raw speed over a single flyer.
- Pace: Consistency over a full race distance.
- Head-to-Head: Ability to overtake and defend in duels.
- Reliability: The likelihood of making mistakes or suffering mechanical issues.
The Twist: These aren’t static. These ratings will update based on real-world 2026 season results. If a rider like Marco Bezzecchi or Pedro Acosta goes on a winning streak in real life, their in-game counterparts will become tougher to beat.
The Career Mode has been transformed into a narrative-driven experience centered around a fully 3D Paddock.
- Personal Managers: You’ll now work with an agent to handle contract negotiations and navigate the “Rider Market.”
- Media Presence: Thursday press conferences allow you to set the tone for your weekend. You can choose to play it safe or publicly call out rivals, which influences your team’s development goals and your reputation in the paddock.
- Technical Feedback: You’ll have deeper interactions with engineers to guide the bike’s evolution throughout the season.
The trailer also confirmed the return and expansion of the Race Off mode.
- New Location: A brand-new UK-based venue called Canterbury Park has been added.
- Production Bikes: For the first time, you can jump on 1000cc Production Bikes (straight from the showroom floor) in dedicated mono-brand events. This sits alongside the returning Motard, Flat Track, and Minibikes disciplines.
MotoGP 26 will become available on April 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, the new Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Notably, this new installment of the MotoGP game franchise will not be available for the PS4 and Xbox One, as the older consoles could not handle the high-fidelity graphics and complex AI computation required.
MotoGP 26 will let the player experience the full intensity of the 2026 MotoGP Championship with all the official riders, teams, bikes, and tracks in a more authentic way. For the first time, the real-world results dynamically update Riders’ Ratings, directly influencing in-game performance throughout the season.
The game is suitable for those who enjoy a pure Arcade Experience, but also caters to the simulation fan with the Pro Experience. Both modes are supported by tutorials, adaptive difficulty and Neural Aids. MotoGP 26 features a renewed physics system built around a new rider-based handling model delivering greater control and a more authentic riding feel.
In the extensive career mode, you will be able to negotiate contracts, follow up on rider market dynamics, and handle press conferences, helping you to shape your (in-game) future. You will have to collaborate and make decisions with teams regarding drives and bike development.
Alongside the MotoGP races, the game lets you explore disciplines such as Super Motard runs, Flat Track races, and Minibikes challenges, or you can hit the circuit with Production Bike models featured in single-brand events with dedicated physics.
The MotoGP 26 Multiplayer mode lets you compete online with full cross-play (Nintendo platforms excluded) and race on a full grid of up to 22 riders in new online lobbies. The bikes and riders can be customized using the advanced graphic editors, and allows you to share your creations with the community.
