Straight4 officially showcased the classic 2002 Cadillac Northstar LMP-02 as part of the Project Motor Racing LMP class car lineup. The car will be joining the 2002 Audi R8 (LMP900) and Panoz LMP1 Roadster S in the historic LMP class.

With a focus on the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Cadillac’s brief but ambitious comeback to international endurance prototype racing saw the development of the 2002 Cadillac Northstar LMP-02.

Compared to the earlier Riley & Scott-based LMP-00 and LMP-01 models, the LMP-02, the third version of the Cadillac Northstar LMP program, which ran from 2000 to 2002, marked a radical “clean-sheet-of-paper” overhaul.

The car was engineered by Nigel Stroud under the direction of GM Racing. The Cadillac Northstar LMP-02 is powered by a Mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter Northstar V8 (based on the smaller L47 Northstar variant). It delivered approximately 600-620 horsepower @ 7,000 rpm and 550 lb-ft (750 Nm) of Torque.

All that power was transferred to the rear wheels via an Xtrac 6-speed sequential semi-automatic gearbox with a pneumatic shifting mechanism operated by F1-style paddle shifters.

Project Motor Racing will be released on November 25th, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The title is available for pre-order via Steam and the Epic Games Store for €59.99 / $59.99 / £49.99.

Console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can be pre-ordered via their respective digital storefronts (PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store) and various retailers.

Pre-ordering comes with a bonus in the form of the “PMR – GTE Decade Pack” DLC.

The Pre-Purchase Project Motor Racing Year 1 Bundle is available for €89,99. It includes the Day 1 Group 5 Revival Pack, an additional 3 Content Packs, plus the Year 1 Expansion Pack.
