The Chinese PXN brand is a developer and manufacturer of professional game peripherals, including Wheelbases, steering wheels, game controllers, flight joysticks, gaming keyboards, and more.
Like most Chinese manufacturers, the products are great value for money and deliver an impressive list of high-end features for a very modest price.
PXN now retails two new Direct Drive wheelbases for the PC in the form of the 6Nm PXN VD6 and the 10Nm PXN VD6 Wheel Bases. Both Direct Drive wheelbases are considered mid-range and are sold as standalone products or as a bundle with a wheel rim or rim and pedals.
Note that the wheelbases make use of an in-house quick-release (QR) system, limiting you to using proprietary technology PXN wheel rim products.
Both wheelbases come with a power adapter, a USB-C cable and M6 mounting screws, and a hex key
PXN VD6 Wheel Base
The VD6 delivers a 6 Nm (Newton-meter) constant torque with a 7 Nm (Newton-meters) peak torque. This places it in a competitive category for entry to mid-level direct drive systems, providing strong and authentic force feedback for most sim racers.
It uses a low-inertia servo direct drive motor with a custom multi-core processor for real-time force feedback processing. The motor is housed in an Aluminum Alloy casing capped with a plastic front and rear cover.
Equipped with a 24-bit magnetic encoder for high-precision positional tracking, contributing to the detailed force feedback.
The wheelbase can be dialed in via the PXN SimRacing software suite, allowing the user to fine-tune force feedback settings, power output, response curves, and the like. The software is also used to update the firmware of the units.

PXN VD10 Wheel Base
In comparison to its little brother, the VD 10 puts out a constant torque of 10 Nm (Newton meters), with a peak torque of up to 12 Nm.
It’s powered by a 180W custom multi-pole low-inertia direct drive servo motor, designed to provide instant, lag-free feedback and smooth performance. It features a 20-pole design to enhance precision and a segmented stator core to reduce torque ripple. The motor is housed in an Aluminum Alloy casing capped with a plastic front and rear cover.
The wheel can record and transmit even the slightest steering adjustments and minute road information thanks to its 24-bit magnetic encoder, which offers incredibly high resolution (more than 16 million resolution points).
Configuration and tuning are managed through the PXN SimRacing PC software, which allows users to customize force feedback, damping, and response curves, and offers one-click presets for popular racing titles.
