During a recent event in Munich, Germany, Competition Company Director of Product and Experiences Kim Orremark revealed a detailed 2026 roadmap for the Rennsport racing simulator.
This reveal aligns with the statement that the Rennsport team has mutually terminated its PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. publishing agreement with Publisher Nacon, as they have filed for insolvency. Competition Company stated that they will self-publish Rennsport on consoles.
Most notably, Competition Company presented a new philosophy, “Double the Content, Half the Price”. What they meant was that they will bring down the price of the Rennsport Deluxe Edition to €38.49 / $39.99, which is a 45% pricecut, making the Deluxe Edition actually cheaper than the current Standard version of the game, including all the paid content packs through September 2026. (Endurance and Touring Classics packs and the yet-to-be-announced September DLC.)
Players who purchased the Deluxe Edition at its original price will receive yet to be confirmed compensation. (Most likely exclusive in-game items and currency.)
Now for the interesting part… Which new content and features can we expect to see released in 2026?

Key 2026 Updates:
- Reworked AI (May 2026): Moving away from basic “follow the line” logic, the new AI uses a physics-based model that mimics human inputs (throttle, brake, steering) without “cheating” through corners. They now feature “laser-beam” situational awareness to anticipate traffic and defend lines.
- Track Modding: Built on Unreal Engine 5, the modding suite will allow creators to build and share tracks via an in-game asset store. The rollout starts in June and aims for a full public release by December.
- The “Rennsport Path”: A new three-tier career structure:
- Grassroots: Single-player championships and community leagues.
- Semi-Pro: Official manufacturer-backed “Makers Cup” series.
- Professional: The premier ESL R1 League.
- VR Support: While not fixed on the monthly schedule, the developers reaffirmed a “renewed effort” to bring VR to both PC and PS VR2 following the 2025 console launch.
- Self-Publishing: As of March 2026, Rennsport has moved to self-publishing on consoles after mutually terminating their deal with Nacon.
