Competition Company has officially announced that the iconic Porsche 911 GT1 ’98 will be part of the upcoming Endurance Classics Part-1 DLC for the Rennsport racing simulator on PC and console.
The paid DLC pack, including the legendary Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, is scheduled to be released in early March alongside the Hyundai Vision 74 concept car, which will be a free add-on for all players. (Check out the Hyundai introduction video below.)
Porsche 911 GT1 ’98
The ’98 Porsche 911 GT1 Long-Tail is a prototype endurance racing machine famous for taking the victory in the 1998 24-Hours of Le Mans with Laurent Aïello, Allan McNish, and Stéphane Ortelli behind the wheel. This result secured Porsche’s record-breaking 16th overall victory.
The 98 model was an all-new car with a new six-speed sequential gearbox, designed to compete against the Toyota GT-One and Mercedes CLK.
Featuring a full carbon-fibre chassis, the car’s improved aerodynamics pushed the absolute limits of ground-effect technology. Powered by a 3.2L Twin-Turbocharged Mid, longitudinally mounted Flat-6 engine that delivered roughly 550 hp (Rule Restricted), it could accelerate from 0- 100 km/h / 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph).
Hyundai N Vision 74
Originally unveiled in 2022, the Hyundai N Vision 74 is a hydrogen-electric hybrid “rolling lab” concept car that has become one of the most celebrated automotive designs of the 2020s. It blends 1970s retro-futurism with cutting-edge endurance racing technology.
The design is a direct homage to the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept car. Despite its vintage look, it is a serious performance machine with a massive rear wing, aggressive front splitter, and aero-disc wheels designed for cooling and downforce.
Unlike a standard EV, the Hyundai N Vision 74 uses two power sources to drive its wheels. Powered by a 62.4 kWh battery and an 85 kW hydrogen fuel cell stack, the two electric motors on the rear axle produce a combined 671 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque.
All this power propels the car from 0- 100 km/h / 0–60 mph in 4.0 seconds and gives it a top speed of 250 km/h (155+ mph). The car has a range of over 600Km (372 miles) and can be refilled with hydrogen in about 5 minutes.
