SimXperience AccuForce Wheel Sneak Peek

With faster computers and real world racing support, Sim Racing has become a more serious business. With this also the hardware has become more professional and functional. While we see new gear shifters, Racing pedals and button boxes appear on a monthly basis, the high end steering wheel is still the king of a professional Sim Racing setup.

Manufacturers such as Leo Bodnar (SimSteering) Sensodrive and EC Sim Hardware already created commercial products, there is a fourth player on the market. SimXperince who you may know of the high-end Stage 5 motion rig have been working on their own direct-drive steering wheel, names “AccuForce”. The wheel has been in development for a while. There is no release date confirmed, but it is expected to be on sale during 2014. Berney Villers of SimXperience stated that the wheel will not be released before its bulletproof. Knowing the quality of the SimXperience products, we can expect it to be just that.

The SimXperience AccuForce wheel is now in its test phase, and to make sure it can withstand consumer abuse, a few test units are undergoing just that at the Honda Indy event in Toronto held this weekend. Previous sneak peak’s of the AccuForce wheel did not resemble the final product. However, Berney hinted that the latest photo’s are showing a unit that will probably resemble the release product.

Make-A-Wish

At the Honda Indy Toronto event, SimXperience is supporting the “Make-A-Wish” foundation. To have a go in the SimXperience Stage 5 racing simulator equipped with the AccuForce steering wheel prototype, a donation of minimum 2 dollars was required. The money earned goes straight to the “Make-A-Wish” foundation. Make-A-Wish is the premier wish-granting organization for children, including Make-A-Wish America and local chapters, and Make-A-Wish International.
