The New Fanatec ClubSport Formula V3 wheel

During Fanatec’s Spring Showcase back in April, the German Sim Racing peripheral brand announced the successor to the popular mid-range Formula V2.5 steering wheel. Let’s have a look at the new ClubSport Formula V3 wheel.

In comparison to the 270mm Formula V2.5 wheel, the new V3 version is 290mm in diameter to better manage the higher torque of the ClubSport DD+, which was recently updated to 18 Nm. The wheel features user-replaceable grips wrapped in perforated leather.

The front of the wheel is made out of a 5 mm-thick carbon fiber front plate housing eleven push-buttons, two 7-way FunkySwitches, two 2-way momentary switches, three newly designed 12-way rotary switches, and two thumb-reachable rotary dials.

The minimalistic 1″ white OLED display of the Formula V2.5 is now upgraded to a 2.7″ white OLED display featuring the Intelligent Telemetry Mode (ITM), which can switch between five different game telemetry data layouts that let the user cycle through layouts like lap times, deltas, and tire data. On top of the OLED screen, there are nine RGB RevLEDs, while the sides are flanked by 3 RGB FlagLEDs on either side.

The rear of the wheel houses two CNC-machined Magnetic paddle shifters in black anodized aluminum, and comes with a QR2 Wheel-Side preinstalled.
