In the past few years, the sim racing hype has somewhat declined, but we can still call it a sim racing industry. While already a lot of famous companies have jumped on the sim racing bandwagon in an already flooded market, still, more established PC hardware brands are starting to produce their own sim racing hardware. But hey, there can never be too many choices of your favourite type of gear.
Thermaltake, one of the leading Taiwanese manufacturers of PC case designs, power supplies, cooling devices, and much more, introduced its first series of simracing products.
Unveiled back in January 2025, the new product somewhat disappeared under the radar, and at the time, Thermaltake did not state an exact release date.
Now Thermaltake has officially introduced its G6 Direct Drive Racing Wheel with Pedals Bundle, consisting of a 6Nm direct drive wheelbase, a steel pedal set, and a 13-inch D-Shaped racing wheel.
The compact DD Wheelbase housing the servo motor is made out of aluminium alloy, and features a dual motor cooling system, low-noise fan, and integrated temperature sensor to maintain consistent performance over longer usage periods. The unit is controlled by a 16-bit encoder and features connection ports for a Shifter, Pedals, E-Stop, Controller, and power connection.
The Wheelbase can be paired with a D-shaped racing wheel, which is wrapped in premium synthetic leather. The wheel rim attaches to the wheelbase via a steel ball quick-release system. The rim features 10 customizable LEDs, 2 shifter paddles, 2 clutch paddles, 2 rotary knobs, 12 programmable buttons, and a 5-way joystick.
The G6 three-pedal set is fully made out of metal and uses Hall effect sensors for its input detection. The pedals are adjustable ( spacing, angle, and height), and are compatible with an optional brake dampening kit. Furthermore, the pedal plates are fitted with anti-slip pads, and the base is pre-drilled for easy mounting.
The hardware is controlled by the in-house Thermaltake Racing Control software, which offers in-depth adjustments for force feedback strength, pedal response, steering sensitivity, and button mappings. The user can save multiple profiles to suit different games, vehicles, or driving styles.
Alongside the mentioned products, Thermaltake strives to create an entire sim racing ecosystem, with hardware such as the Thermaltake GR500 cockpit, the GM5 motion system, and Thermaltake monitor stands.
The Pricing of these products is not immediately clear, as prices seem to differ a lot from source to source. Check your local supplier or internet shop for the current price setting.
