New Formula Wheel Coming in 2021

Via its social media channels, peripheral manufacturer Thrustmaster has teased a new upcoming sim racing wheel or wheel rim.

The teaser shot does not reveal any details regarding the product, but clearly outlines the shape of a formula/endurance style racing wheel. The picture seems to reveal an open side grip design, thumb controlled rotary encoders, thumb push buttons, and with some imagination, split paddle shifters which could indicate the wheel also features wheel-mounted clutch paddles. Needless to say that this is all speculation.

Furthermore, the teaser post also includes the number 2021, which is most likely pointing out that we can expect to see the wheel released somewhere next year.

In the past, Thrustmaster already released a formula-style wheel in the form of the Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-on which was a full-size replica of the Formula 1 Ferrari 2011 racing wheel, under official license by Ferrari. The wheel was suitable for use with the Thrustmaster T500, T300, and TX wheelbases.

A new formula wheel would be most welcome, as the old, and mainly plastic Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-on is not exactly representing the current sim racing standards.
