Automobilista 2 – 1991 Silverstone Historic VR Preview
Back in July, Reiza Studios released the Hockenheim Pack as the first DLC offering for its Automobilista 2 Racing Simulator. Now Reiza is adding the finishing touches to the upcoming Silverstone Pack DLC addon.
If all goes as planned the Silverstone Pack should become available on Tuesday, August 11, alongside a new major AMS2 update. The DLC will include four versions of the track, being 1975, 1991, 2001, and the current 2020 layout.
To get all the fans excited, Reiza published a nice preview video showcasing a lap at the classic Silverstone layout in glorious VR.
This week we travel back almost 30 years to 1991, for what was then a fresh major reform to the classic track as it had been through the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
This was the first layout to feature the fast sweeping Maggots, Becketts, and Chapel sequence which stands to this day as one of the most challenging series of corners in racing!
The rest of the lap had plenty more excitement to offer: a very interesting albeit short-lived sequence of left-right high-speed sweepers from Stowe all the way to Priory, for the technical and slower last complex – all surrounded by high curbs that would demand absolute precision!
This is Silverstone as it was at the peak of Mansell-Mania in the early 1990s.
The Automobilista 2 release version is currently available via Steam for €36,99, while the Automobilista 2 + 2020-2021 Season Pass Bundle is available for €114,28.
